Tiger Cake

Happy First Birthday to TJ!

It’s been a while since I’ve done anything creative, so it seemed a good idea to freshen up the ol’ blog with the latest, although small, artistic project… A cake for our year-of-the-tiger child, TJ. Grandma made the cake (vegan orange sponge cake) and I snuck in to take over the icing and decorating – with help from Granddad for the fine whisker cutting work.

– Getting ready to bring out the cake! –

– TJ’s not too sure how great this is, seeing as he’s just been handed an iPod and a motorcycle key from his Uncle –

– Now he’s digging it. And hey, there’s the 3 month bump … AKA: the reason I nap all day instead of updating this blog with new and exciting projects 😉 –

– Couldn’t help but try out a Picasso-style tiger –

– As every young man should look on his first birthday. You should see the pics of 1 year old Jeff… he has TJ beat hands down for messiness.-

– We got this paddling pool second-hand on Freecycle for his birthday. Teej LOVES it. –

There you have it. A little bit of art and a whole lot of fun. Happy birthday son!
